DeLaval celebrates 140 years in dairy

Ever since its establishment in April 1883, DeLaval has focused on pioneering solutions that help dairy farmers and their animals. That focus lives on today. “It is our role to make dairy farmers' lives better through innovation, quality and through commitment. This means finding more sustainable ways to farm so that they can be successful and in turn, provide the world with nutritious food now and in the future,” said Paul Löfgren, DeLaval President & CEO.

Gustaf de Laval was an inventor that founded the company 140 years ago. “If we can learn anything from our long history, then it is that continuous innovation and solutions that focus on the customer are key,” continued Löfgren.

Automation and digitalization are increasingly important in the dairy industry and the demand from customers is increasing. “We are grateful and proud for the continued trust our customers put in us and our solutions. Today, we celebrate our heritage, but more than that, we commit to the future, to challenge ourselves to live up to the spirit of Gustaf de Laval. We will, together with our dealers, partners and customers, help lead this great industry into the future. The company started by an inventor will not stop inventing,” said Löfgren.

Throughout the year, DeLaval will hold 140-year celebrations with its customers and business partners via various local events and festivities.

“We are excited to mark this milestone in our journey together with our customers and dealer partners in the U.S. and Canada,” added Fernando Cuccioli, Executive Vice President, Cluster Americas. “With a legacy of forward-thinking innovations, DeLaval has adapted decade after decade to changes within the milk industry. Our Passion for dairy farming continues to grow stronger as together we will help to feed a growing world population.”
