New AI powered analysis on show at DairyTech

In a series of presentations at DairyTech 2025, DeLaval will discuss its new digitally powered performance portal – DeLaval Plus.  This will include groundbreaking applications such as behaviour analysis and how artificial intelligence is now available to farms choosing to operate with DeLaval’s VMS milking robots. 

Ben Thompson, Market Solutions Manager, UK and Ireland, says: 
“Behaviour Analysis is the latest farm management tool in the DeLaval Plus Performance Portal. The system uses data sensors to record individual cow behaviour, analyses each cow’s data using artificial intelligence (AI) and helps dairy producers identify sick cows and cows in heat.” 

Mr Thompson will speak three times during the one-day event on February 5th at Stoneleigh Park. He will provide an overview of the DeLaval Plus system, the benefits to farmers, and how the addition of behaviour analysis will help guide decision-making. “With this additional management tool, animals can be responded to quickly, with the right action, driving the performance of the farm by increasing cow productivity and welfare. Producers with Behaviour Analysis in their farm management toolbox have total visibility and oversight of their cows, allowing data to be converted to decisions efficiently,” he adds. 

The system uses new DeLaval BioSensor ear tags, which automatically communicate with housing sensors. The data is shared with DeLaval DeepBlue, an AI-based software which analyses the information using sophisticated models of cow behaviour. This provides state-of-the-art heat detection, rumination and eating behaviour calculations to enable better, faster and more accurate decision-making.
