Free traffic
If you have the labour to bring in the cows, a free traffic system is ideal for retrofitting and providing cows with more freedom. Our planning teams will support you in achieving robot performance goals by balancing robot throughput with PMR and offering guidance on the optimal layout for post-sort options.

Guided traffic
Reduce the effort of fetching cows with a guided traffic system. DeLaval’s advisory and planning teams will help you retrofit or design a new barn to optimise your VMS, whether it’s by installing gates to direct traffic to the VMS or providing feed and post-sort options.

VMS Batch Milking
The VMS Batch Milking system replaces manual milking with automation. It includes a sort pen, shared group pens, and positions the VMS machines in the centre, in a designated milking area. VMS ensures consistent milking, collects data, and can milk up to 8 cows per hour.

OptiDuo™ pushes up milk yield in Shropshire
Howard Edwards, having utilised the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) to install a DeLaval OptiDuo™ robot in his new shed, has experienced increased milk production, estimating a rise from 9,500 to over 10,000 litres annually, along with a notable improvement in cow behaviour and health due to reduced competition and enhanced forage accessibility. The OptiDuo™, equipped with Adaptive Drive technology, not only automates feed pushing but also refreshes feed, contributing to higher feed intake and milk yield, while its quiet operation ensures cow comfort and safety.
